[Of course Dazai could have handled Chuuya, if he'd really needed to. There are a couple of reasons why he didn't, the most important of which is that drugs makes anyone unpredictable. Dazai could have hurt Chuuya much more than intended - or, on the opposite side of things: Chuuya could have suddenly lashed out and hurt Dazai more than he cared to be hurt. Not that Dazai can't handle a little pain, but if he'd broken something - like his neck - that would have been most inconvenient.

It was a very logical decision. Especially when he really doesn't care overly much about his bolo tie.

Dazai half expects Chuuya to join him, but he's not expecting physical avances right off. His mistake, clearly. His adam's apple bobs in his neck at that bite.]


... Overcompensating for last night's weakness, are we?

[Predictable. But Dazai doesn't mind. Besides, if it will distract Chuuya from their doomed partnering-up, so much the better. Maybe Dazai can sneak out on him in the end.]
